SAN DIEGO – Sophomore Aaliyah Gibson hit for the cycle for the Nevada softball team in a 10-4 win over San Diego State in the first game of a doubleheader before the Wolf Pack (23-6, 4-1 MW) fell to the Aztecs in the second game, 9-1, on Tuesday in San Diego.
Gibson is the first player to hit for the cycle in program history. The game one win was also the Wolf Pack’s first victory over the Aztecs since April 7, 2013, a 4-2 win in San Diego. Senior Megan Sweet hit two home runs in the first game to give her 32 for her career, two behind the all-time leader Brittney Puzey.
