In short: After apprenticing for three years, Stewart elevates to the top job. He has the all the physical traits you want in a quarterback: excellent size, a strong arm, good athleticism and good pocket presence and awareness. His strongest suit, and the one that won him the job, is his football intelligence. Nobody studies harder than Stewart, whose ability to get Nevada into the right plays and change protections was one of the reasons coach Brian Polian named him the starter. Stewart will be playing behind an unproven offensive line and his surrounding weapons are more average than elite, so he'll have a lot on his plate.
