The Nevada defense played its second straight strong game Saturday night against visiting Fresno State. But the Wolf Pack offense never got all the way on track, and that was enough for the Bulldogs to leave Reno with a 21-3 win in front of soggy, chilled fans.
Nevada (3-3 overall, 1-1 Mountain West) held Fresno State to 271 yards – and just 30 on the ground – limited the Bulldogs to 12 first downs, and gave up only one big play, but couldn’t generate much sustained offense of its own. The Pack’s lone points came on a 41-yard field goal by Ramiz Ahmed in the second quarter.
