BUFFALO, N.Y. – Wolf Pack defensive coordinator Scott Boone promised something different this week.
“There are a few changes that are coming this week that will change the complexion of our defense,” Boone said Tuesday without going into further detail on what those changes would entail.
On Saturday against Buffalo, we found out what those changes were, and boy did they work.
Nevada revamped its struggling secondary, moving Kendall Johnson from free safety to cornerback and inserting true freshman Dameon Baber at safety. And in Baber’s first college game, he had 10 tackles and two interceptions, including the game-sealing pick in the final minute of Nevada’s 24-21 win.
