The Nevada softball team was already looking at a challenging weekend, facing San Diego State on the road in an important three-game Mountain West series.
That was before a theft reportedly left the team without a sizable chunk of equipment, including several aluminum bats.
The Wolf Pack will be able to play the series against the Aztecs after getting responses to pleas for help with replacement gear. The Pack and SDSU are scheduled for a three-game series Friday through Sunday. First pitch Friday is 6 p.m.
"With the support of our community, other programs, and our (equipment company) Mizuno rep, we were able to get some materials to our team down in San Diego,” Nevada head coach Linda Garza said in a Friday statement.
