Former Wolf Pack star Deonte Burton has been waived by the Phoenix Suns.
Burton, who started all four years for Nevada from 2010-14 and is second in program history in scoring, was cut a day before the Suns opened their preseason schedule. Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic reported that Burton wasn't at training camp, but is expected to join the Suns' D-League roster in Bakersfield.
Burton was on the Philadelphia 76ers' summer league team this offseason. He also has been on the Washington Wizards' summer league team two years ago and spent training camp with the Sacramento Kings last season.
