Former Wolf Pack player Sam Williams, who departed the program earlier this month, will play this season for Division II school Kentucky Wesleyan College.
Williams, a 6-foot-8, 210-pound wing player and Hug High alum, began his college career with two seasons at Mt. San Jacinto College. He transferred to Nevada last season and redshirted under NCAA rules. Wolf Pack coach Eric Musselman said earlier this month Williams would not return to the program this year.
Nevada had a scholarship crunch after adding four Division I transfers this offseason: Purdue's Kendall Stephens, Iowa State's Hallice Cookie and North Carolina State twins Cody and Caleb Martin.
