Hug High graduate Sam Williams grew up a Wolf Pack fan, his love for the team growing stronger when he met ex-Nevada stars Marcelus Kemp and Kyle Shiloh when they worked at the Boys & Girls Club.
Williams was a self-described “Boys and Girls Club kid” and he wanted to wear a Wolf Pack jersey one day. That opportunity didn’t come out of high school as he wasn’t offered by Nevada when he graduated in 2013. But when the opportunity rolled back around, he wasn’t going to let it slip by.
“It’s always been a dream to play in Lawlor,” Williams said Monday afternoon shortly after committing to play for the Wolf Pack over offers from a host of Division I schools.
