If it’s watch-list time, that must mean the college football season is right around the corner.
The Nevada football team continued its run of preseason success last week, putting a number of players onto national award watch lists while also being picked to win the Mountain West’s West Division (on Wednesday) and placing four players onto the preseason All-Mountain West team (Thursday).
A total of six Wolf Pack players have been announced recently as candidates for six national awards; more announcements could be forthcoming as college teams across the country begin to transition toward fall camps.
By award, Nevada players are on watch lists for the following honors:
Bednarik Award (outstanding defensive player): Lawson Hall
2020 winner: Zaven Collins (Tulsa)
Biletnikoff Award (top receiver): Elijah Cooks, Romeo Doubs, Cole Turner
2020 winner: DeVonta Smith (Alabama)
Notable: Nevada’s three players on the first watch list are the most in the nation.
