The Nevada baseball team will be staying in familiar territory for its first NCAA tournament appearance in 21 years.
The Wolf Pack was awarded the No. 3 seed in the four-team Stanford Regional on Monday. Nevada will open play on Friday against No. 2 UC Irvine.
Top-seeded Stanford and North Dakota State round out the field.
The Pack reached the NCAA regional round by winning the Mountain West regular-season title at 22-9 (25-18 overall). Its most recent two trips to the NCAA regionals — in 2000 and 1999 — were also played at Stanford.
