Wolf Pack point guard Marqueze Coleman didn’t start for the Wolf Pack but he certainly finished.
The senior began the game on the bench for the first time this season, a result of being late for practice, but he more than made up for it in Nevada’s 71-68 victory Saturday at Lawlor Events Center.
Coleman scored Nevada’s last six points, including a huge 3-pointer with 21 seconds to go, and had nine of his team’s last 11 to ensure the Wolf Pack would end its losing streak at a modest two games.
“He’s been so clutch all year when we put the ball in his hands,” said Nevada coach Eric Musselman, who was fighting off a nasty illness (he missed the team’s shootaround Saturday morning).
