At 1 a.m. Friday morning, Wolf Pack coach Eric Musselman received a text that moved him to tears.
It was from senior Lucas Stivrins, a reserve forward for Nevada who logged just 63 minutes this season. In the text, Stivrins told Musselman he couldn’t sleep. He was too excited for game three of the CBI title series. Stivrins had never won a team championship in his life. Winning the CBI would mean everything to him.
Later Friday, another senior, Tyron Criswell, posted on social media he had won many individual awards in his life but never a team title.
