The CBI is unique when it comes to college basketball.
Unlike every other postseason tournament – there are five in all – the CBI doesn’t end with a winner-take-all game. Instead, it is a best-of-three series, the first team to two wins being crowned champion.
So, this is uncharted territory for every player on the Wolf Pack roster. But for Nevada head coach Eric Musselman, it’s old hat. When Musselman was the coach of the NBA D-League’s Reno Bighorns in 2010-11 and the L.A. Defenders in 2011-12, he coached in five best-of-three series, winning three of them.
