As a player at Iowa, then with coaching stops at places such as Oklahoma, Wisconsin and UCLA, Nevada football coach Jay Norvell has seen his share of rivalry games.
He ranks the Nevada-UNLV battle for the Fremont Cannon as among the best.
The Wolf Pack and Rebels will meet for the 44th time Saturday in Las Vegas in the final regular-season game for both. Nevada leads the series between the state’s only four-year universities, 26-17, including wins in each of the last two seasons.
