Nevada made it official on on Friday morning, naming Ken Wilson as the Wolf Pack football team's 27th head coach.
Wilson, 57, spent 23 years coaching and in athletic administration at Nevada before taking an assistant coaching job at Washington State and then at Oregon.
Wilson replaces Jay Norvell, who took the head coaching job at Colorado State on Monday.
Wilson joined Nevada in 1989 after starting his career at New Mexico.
Wilson was a co-defensive coordinator last season at Oregon.
Nevada coach Chris Ault hired Wilson in 1989 and Wilson was an assistant coach for Ault as well as former coaches Jeff Horton and Jeff Tisdel.
