The Nevada basketball team experienced a few firsts Saturday afternoon, not all of them pleasant.
The Wolf Pack, playing at USC, didn’t score the first points of the game for the first time this season. Nevada trailed at halftime, again for the first time. The Trojans’ zone defense was effective, limiting the Pack to 45.5 percent shooting and 34 points in the first half.
In the end, though, another big second half saved the day for the No. 5 Wolf Pack, who improved to 8-0 with a 73-61 win over the Trojans and are just one of 13 unbeaten teams left in the country.
