Minutes after Nevada golfer Joey Vrzich literally flipped with excitement last week after the Wolf Pack was announced as part of the 81-team NCAA Tournament field, he was asked what made this team special.
“I’d say Grant Booth,” Vrzich responded.
While Booth, the Wolf Pack’s senior leader, would be the first to say the accomplishment was a team-wide achievement, it’s also obvious Nevada wouldn’t be in Norman, Okla., playing Monday in its first NCAA Regional since 2007 without its great Australian.
