Former Nevada star and current running backs coach Vai Taua will lead Nevada in its Quick Lane Bowl game against Western Michigan.
Wolf Pack athletics director Doug Knuth announced Taua’s new role for the bowl game in a statement Monday morning. Nevada learned earlier in the day that former head coach Jay Norvell had accepted the same position at Colorado State.
“I am pleased to announce that assistant coach Vai Taua will take over as our interim head coach for the bowl game,” Knuth said. “We are confident in Coach Taua’s ability to lead our team during this transition time.
