One day into the NCAA Wrestling Championships, Nebraska sits in a tie for ninth place with Virginia Tech with 14.5 points. Iowa is in the lead with 33.5 points and Penn State is second with 28.
The Huskers saw the national championship hopes dashed for most of their wrestlers on Friday. After going 6-3 as a team in the first round, the Huskers lost their first five matches Thursday evening before rebounding with four straight wins to finish the day.
Nebraska now has just Mikey Labriola and Taylor Venz as their championship hopefuls.
