Any closer and the Nebraska wrestling team might have upset No. 3 North Carolina State on Saturday before 1,894 fans at the Devaney Sports Center.
“This was the toughest match we had since we beat Oklahoma State (Dec. 6) and it was the same score,” said Wolfpack coach Pat Popolizio. “We thought this would be tough because Nebraska is such a talented team and they had a great crowd."
North Carolina State (21-0) beat the No. 8 Huskers 19-15, with one upset and an injury default by NU heavyweight Collin Jensen, who injured a knee in the opening seconds of his match against defending national champion and 24-0 Nick Gwiazdowski.
