Women's basketball: Three-pointer shooter Romeo better on defense, too

Natalie Romeo has given the Nebraska women’s basketball team a whole lot of help this season by making 52 three-pointers, including a school-record eight in a win against Penn State on Wednesday.

She’s one of the best three-point shooters in the country, ranking No. 5 with 3.3 per game. The sophomore is shooting 43.7 percent on threes, which is 21st nationally.

But Romeo is equally pleased about the gains she’s made on defense, an area where she had a lot of room to improve from her freshman season.

“I would say defensively I really wanted to get better,” Romeo said.
