Jessica Shepard scored 22 points, and Natalie Romeo had 21 with four three-pointers to lead the Nebraska women’s basketball team to a 89-38 win against Southern on Monday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
After four straight home games to start the season, Nebraska (4-0) travels to play top-ranked Connecticut on Saturday afternoon.
Shepard was 8-of-10 from the field and 6-of-11 on free throws for her fourth straight 20-point game to start her career.
She scored 10 of the Huskers’ first 13 points as NU took a 13-5 lead about five minutes into the game.
Shepard had 14 of the Huskers’ 29 first-quarter points, including making all six field-goal attempts and both free throws.
