Junior guard Ally Disterhoft scored 17 points and Lincoln Southeast grad Alexa Kastanek added 13 points to help lead the Iowa women’s basketball team to a 74-68 win against Nebraska on Thursday at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Nebraska got a 14-point halftime deficit down to three with a three-pointer by Natalie Romeo that cut the Hawkeyes’ lead to 59-56 with 5:45 to play in the fourth quarter, but Nebraska could never reclaim the lead.
The finish got interesting when Nebraska got a steal and Romeo hit a three-pointer with 15 seconds left to cut the Iowa lead to 71-68.
