Allie Havers was busy enough going from high school volleyball to basketball to softball that she didn’t really have time to play hundreds of club basketball games like some of her teammates on the Nebraska women’s basketball team.
In fact, she only played in two club basketball tournaments, but the Nebraska coaches were at one of them and liked Havers enough that they decided to take a closer look.
“We just had a chance to see her one time in a tournament in Chicago that summer, and she really didn’t play a lot because she had just joined the team, but we could see she had some potential,” Nebraska coach Connie Yori said.
