With one fewer rib, Matysova ready for her senior season at NU

When senior Katerina Matysova leaves Nebraska, she’ll depart with a bachelor's and master's degree in psychology, experiences playing at the highest level of Division I women’s college tennis to last a lifetime and one fewer rib than she had when she arrived on campus in August 2013.

The Germany native had her undefeated season a year ago interrupted by a blood clot in her shoulder. Matysova, who was 13-0 last spring playing anywhere from Nos. 2 to 5 in the singles lineup, was put on blood thinners and missed nearly a month before she was cleared to return for the Huskers’ match against Penn State in early April.
