At one point during Saturday’s Nebraska men’s and women’s double gymnastics dual, Chuck Chmelka looked up at the Devaney Sports Center crowd and was in awe.
A crowd of 4,443 — believed to be the largest attendance for a regular-season gymnastics meet at NU — watched as the Husker men, ranked No. 1 in the country, topped No. 3 Ohio State for the second straight week, this time 411.750-404.150.
The men shared the spotlight with the No. 12 Husker women, who improved on last week’s season-opening win at Penn State with a 196.300-192.975 win against Rutgers.
Ohio State’s Sean Melton, a six-time Big Ten champion and potential future Olympian, scored a 15.
