Northwestern, barely in the top 300 of college baseball teams, crushed Nebraska and took the finale of the three-game series 11-3 Sunday at Haymarket Park.
Nebraska (22-10, 6-2) had nipped the Wildcats in a pair of one-run decisions Friday and Saturday, but had no answers and plenty of questions Sunday.
The Huskers had been on a roll, winning three in a row and 16 of the last 19, before Northwestern (8-24, 2-7) frustrated Nebraska at every turn.
By the end of the fourth inning, two NU base runners had been caught stealing, and Nebraska had not scored with two on and one out in the second and third and bases loaded with no outs in the fourth.
