Andrew White focuses so much on helping his Nebraska basketball teammates that sometimes he overlooks one of the most obvious manners in which he can contribute.
That’s by taking a game by its throat and not losing grip.
White did that Saturday, and it helped the Huskers avoid Incarnate Word 2.0.
White scored 30 points, collected seven rebounds and four steals -- all career highs -- and senior guard Shavon Shields scored 21 points, as Nebraska held off upset-minded Abilene Christian 73-63 before 10,205 fans at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
A junior guard, White finished 14-of-16 on free throws and 6-of-15 from the field.
