According to multiple reports Sunday, the Miami Dolphins signed the undrafted rookie receiver from Nebraska and waived/injured linebacker Lamin Barrow.
According to the Orlando Sun Sentinel, wide receiver Isaiah Ford (knee), the seventh-round pick from Virginia Tech, missed practice Sunday for the second consecutive day and running back Storm Johnson (foot) also missed practice.
The Sun Sentinel speculated Westerkamp's signing may be an indication that Ford could be sidelined for a while. On the other hand, the Dolphins perhaps are just taking a look at a player who drew their interest.
Westerkamp also has had tryouts with Tampa Bay, Cleveland and Kansas City.
