Nebraska Softball's Volunteer Coach Mark Watt was named a 2021-22 National Coach of the Year announced the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Coaches Association.
Watt served as the head softball coach at Lincoln Southwest High School, retiring in 2022 as the career leader in softball coaching victories with 579 wins during his 25 years of coaching. Watt led his teams to four NSAA Class A State Softball Championships along with three second-place finishes. He has been named Coach of the Year by various organizations including the Nebraska Coaches Association, Lincoln Journal Star and KFOR Sportscaster Club.
