Glynn Watson, mired in one of the worst slumps of his career coming in, made the big plays down the stretch as the Nebraska men's basketball team held off Rutgers 60-54 Wednesday in Piscataway, New Jersey.
The Huskers (15-8, 6-4 Big Ten) led by nine with about 15 minutes left only to see Rutgers cut the lead to two points four times in the game's final eight minutes.
The last time came at 54-52 with 1:16 left on a Candido Sa layup. Nebraska got a defensive stop to keep Rutgers from tying or taking the lead, then Watson used a pretty stop-and-go move to get a layup with 29 seconds to go.
