Walters doesn't call plays on gameday, but serves as Frost's second set of eyes

As 7-0 Central Florida, ranked No. 18 in the nation at the time, prepared to travel to Southern Methodist for Nov. 4 conference game, the Knights had a plan in place and ready to activate that involved offensive coordinator Troy Walters calling plays for the entire game.

Mind you, it’s not like head coach Scott Frost was considering relinquishing the duty because his team was in an offensive funk or anything like that. In fact, UCF hung 73 points on Austin Peay the week before, crested 60 two other times and averaged 51 per game over the perfect start.
