Waldron sharp as Huskers shut out Hoosiers

Freshman Matt Waldron is now in the same sentence as Nebraska's famous Shane Komine when it comes to talking about Nebraska pitching.

Waldron came within three outs of matching Komine's back-to-back complete-game shutouts in 2000 and pushed the Huskers into a tie for second place in the Big Ten standings.

Waldron threw eight innings of three-hit baseball Friday to lift Nebraska to a 2-0 win against Indiana before 4,591 delirious fans at Haymarket Park.

The Huskers (36-18, 15-8) are tied with the Hoosiers for second place in the conference. The teams play the series finale Saturday at 1 p.
