Nebraska junior libero Justine Wong-Orantes was named the Big Ten defensive player of the year on Tuesday morning.
Also, junior right-side hitter Kadie Rolfzen and her twin sister, junior middle blocker Amber Rolfzen, were each named to the 14-player All-Big Ten first-team.
Kadie Rolfzen has been named first team each of the first three years of her career. It’s the first conference honor for Amber Rolfzen, after making a switch from right-side hitter to middle blocker in the offseason.
Husker outside hitter Mikaela Foecke was named to the seven-player all-freshmen team.
Wong-Orantes earned the label of the Big Ten’s best defensive player in a vote of the league’s head coaches.
