Kelly Hunter has been in this situation before, with the Nebraska volleyball team preparing to play Penn State for a third time this season, although this match will come on a much larger stage in the third round of the NCAA Tournament than Hunter’s previous experience.
“I remember my freshman year we played Omaha Marian, like, five times,” said Hunter, the Huskers’ junior setter who played high school volleyball at Papillion-La Vsita South. “Especially being from Nebraska, a little bit smaller state, we saw the same teams all the time.”
Friday, second-ranked Nebraska will play No. 13 Penn State for the third time, because the teams previously played two regular-season matches as members of the Big Ten.
