Nebraska did what it could to stay in contention for at least a share of the Big Ten Conference volleyball championship with a three-set win against No. 18 Illinois on Wednesday.
The Huskers started the final week of the regular season in second place in the conference standings, one match behind first-place Minnesota.
Minnesota and Ohio State also played on Wednesday in a match with major implications on the conference race. The match was not over at press time.
Junior middle blocker Amber Rolfzen had another big match for the Huskers with 12 kills and seven blocks in the Huskers’ 25-16, 25-16, 25-16 win in front of a standing-room only crowd at the Devaney Sports Center.
