Versatile Williams Eager To Help Anywhere

When listening to a passionate Deontai Williams detail his love for football, you might have flashbacks to the animated cartoon where Bugs Bunny inserts himself into a baseball lineup at every position against the Gas-House Gorillas.

In the same manner, Williams, a junior college transfer in his first season with Nebraska, said he’d play any spot on the football field, if his team needed him.

Even quarterback?

“I’d do it. I’d really do it,” Williams said. “If they want me to play quarterback, I’ll play quarterback.”

For the record, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound Williams is battling for a starting spot at safety, although as versatile as he is, he could play cornerback, too.
