Nebraska women's golfer Michaela Vavrova fired a career-best three-round total of 217 (+1) on her way to the individual championship at Stampede at The Creek in Elkhorn, Neb., on Tuesday afternoon.
Vavrova, a sophomore from Bojnice, Slovakia, carded three solid rounds, including a 71 (-1) in Monday's second round before closing with an even-par 72 Tuesday to claim a four-stroke victory over Creighton's Eleanor Hudepohl (221). North Dakota State's Leah Skaar took third (223), while NDSU's Catherine Monty finished fourth (224).
Vavrova was consistent throughout the 54 holes of the two-day event on the Red Feather and Blackbird nines at Indian Creek Golf Course.
