In an absolutely beautiful ballpark in Irvine, CA, Nebraska opened their three-game series against Southern California with veteran Will Walsh (2-3, 3.42) on the mound. The Trojans countered with a lefty of their own, Caden Hunter, sporting a 3-1 record and a 2.77 ERA.

After Nebraska went down in order in the top of the first inning, USC. put a run up in their half. The Trojans best hitter, Ethan Hedges ripped a one out triple off Walsh, and then scored when the next batter up, Adrian Lopez stroked a single.
