Lincoln -- University of Nebraska senior snapper Chase Urbach has been named to the Patrick Mannelly Award Preseason Watch List released this week.
The Mannelly Award was created this year to honor college football’s top senior long snapper. It was named in honor of Patrick Mannelly, who played 16 seasons with the Chicago Bears and is the franchise’s all-time leader with 245 games played.
Urbach moved into the starting long snapper role last season and handled the snapping duties for Nebraska’s punt unit in each of the final 10 games of 2018. As the long snapper, he helped Isaac Armstrong post the ninth-best punting average (43.
