A trio of former Nebraska softball players celebrated a professional championship Sunday.
The Scrap Yard Dawgs defeated the USSSA Pride in the third and decisive game of the National Pro Fastpitch championship series.
Among the players who were all smiles -- Taylor Edwards, Kiki Stokes and MJ Knighten.
The Dawgs, in their second season in the league, forced a third game with a 2-0 victory earlier Sunday. Stokes entered the second game as a pinch runner and scored a run.
This marks Edwards' third NPF championship. She won two with the Chicago Bandits. Edwards is the team's starting catcher.
