Make no mistake. Fordham was a FCS opponent that Nebraska was expected to handle easily.
In the beginning it was anything but easy. With that said Scott Frost stuck with the running game and Nebraska pulled away in the 2nd quarter to end up beating Fordham by 45 points.
Frost said after the game that he wanted to establish the running game. It took longer than he wanted but it happened nonetheless. “Still want to get the run game established a little earlier and a little better. We need our base run plays to get us five or six when they’re getting us two and get us 11 when they’re getting to six and I think that’s a team effort.
