If you're a Nebraska football fan, you hold out hope those experts — Phil Savage, Archie Manning, Chris Mortensen, et al — ultimately will prove to be correct because they portrayed Lee as a future NFL quarterback. I still believe Lee possesses that type of talent, although what we've seen through three games gives many of us pause.
But as the 2017 season progresses, the experts' assessments of Lee will continue to bounce around in my cranium if only because there were very bold statements about the junior transfer from Tulane. Those statements helped shape our overall assessment of Nebraska's program.
