Somewhere in the northern Minnesota woods, Mike Grant will spend the early-morning hours Saturday high above the frost-tinged ground and scanning the distance for signs of movement.
The Eden Prairie High football coach and son of legendary Minnesota Vikings coach Bud Grant will be hours from his talented team, which, by the way, enters its Class 6A state semifinal game Friday night against Lakeville North a perfect 10-0.
Like thousands of other Minnesotans that morning, Grant will be in a tree stand looking for a prize, smack in the middle of the state’s three-weekend deer hunting season.
