Special teams the early ticket to freshman Bradley's playing time

Nebraska running backs coach Reggie Davis said it didn’t take long after Jaylin Bradley arrived on campus to realize the freshman could help the Cornhuskers.

At first, though, that role will come mostly on special teams.

The Bellevue native is one of four true freshmen head coach Mike Riley said will definitely play this season for the Huskers. He’s currently listed as NU’s No. 3 kick returner — behind fellow freshmen JD Spielman and Tyjon Lindsey — but Riley said Monday that Bradley will play on other special teams units as well.

“We’ve been really impressed with the ability that Jaylin Bradley has shown as a runner, as a receiver and playing on special teams,” Riley said.
