Nebraska women's golfer Kate Smith added another honor to her remarkable fifth season as a Husker, when she was voted a first-team Academic All-America All-District 7 selection by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday, July 8.
Smith, a WGCA and Golfweek All-American, was the 2021 Big Ten Conference individual champion. She led Nebraska to a tie for second at the conference championship - NU's best conference team finish since 1984. Smith, who earned her bachelor's degree from Nebraska in May of 2021, posted a 3.59 GPA as a graphic design major during her academic career.
