Peoria, Ariz. - Kate Smith fired rounds of 65 and 66 to tie her own Nebraska record for the best 36-hole score in school history with a 13-under-par 131 through the first two rounds of the Westbrook Spring Invitational at the Vistas Course on Sunday afternoon.
Smith's spectacular performance matched the 131 she shot at the Westbrook Spring Invitational in 2018. Her 65 (-7) in Sunday's opening round was the second-best individual round in school history, trailing only her opening-round 64 at the Westbrook Village Golf Club in 2018.
She enters Monday's final round in second place, just one shot back of Denver's Anna Zanusso, who carded a two-round score of 130, including an NCAA-record-tying 61 (-11) in the second round.
