1. The 67-year-old Moos fits the profile that Bounds and UNL Chancellor Ronnie Green desired -- a Power Five conference AD with ample experience in that role. Moos began his duties as Washington State's AD in mid-April of 2010. He hired Mike Leach as the football coach in late November of 2011.
Moos was AD at Oregon from 1995-2007, when Mike Bellotti was head football coach. Oregon football and basketball were in the middle of good runs, and Moos' job was to keep it going. He did. He also got fund-raising going at unprecedented levels. In fact, he is credited with getting Phil Knight engaged in athletics.
