Lincoln – Nebraska forward Shavon Shields was honored for his efforts in the classroom Thursday, as he was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District™ VII team.
Shields, who carries a 3.72 GPA in biological sciences, earned the first-team all-district honor for the third consecutive year, and will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America honors. Shields, who was a first-team Academic All-American last season, will look to join Beau Reid as the only two-time Academic All-American in Nebraska basketball history. Nebraska leads the nation with 320 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans across all sports.
