Andrew White knew Shavon Shields was in trouble when Shields bit on Rutgers’ D.J. Foreman’s shot fake underneath the basket, and jumped.
He didn’t realize know how much trouble, though.
Shields, a senior forward on the Nebraska men’s basketball team, flipped over Foreman’s back as he was undercut and took a horrendous fall, banging his head and neck on the court with 8:48 remaining in the Huskers’ 87-63 victory Saturday.
“Most basketball players go through a fall like that,” White said. “It’s just a matter of how serious you fall.”
This one was very serious.
